When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger, infact they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.
John 10:4
From the moment Matilda settled on her eggs, I spoke to her. I went in every morning to see her and spoke to her. Then when the chicks were hatched I spoke, “hello, my wee chicks”, every day. Now when I call “wee chicks”, they know my voice and come running!
Just like Jesus said about the sheep, my wee chicks know me and know my voice and come to me.
This comes with familiarity, hearing the voice and being assured that this voice brings good things and acts for our best.
How familiar are we with the voice of Jesus?
Are we often enough in His Word, that we recognise His voice in our every day? Do we have that assurance that Jesus works for our best, do we strain forward, do we listen and are blessed at hearing the voice of the Master and do we follow Him in our every day ?
Lord, open my ears that I may hear Your voice today and that I may respond and follow You. Amen
